Bake Sale for Japan!!!

April 3, 2011

Yesterday, I participated in a bake sale to raise money for Japan. It was awesome! We raised just over $2,500 in four hours at Akasha, and I’m looking forward to seeing how much the effort raised in total as it was happening simultaneously all around the country.

In addition to raising boku cash for Peace Winds Japan, it was awesome mingling with other chefs, bakers, and foodies. We swapped bread tips, chocolate tips, favorite restaurants, and more. For the event I made chocolate peanut butter macarons and two kinds of dark chocolate truffles: truffles with caramel and sea salt and chocolate peanut butter ones. Photos and lots more details to come tomorrow. For now, I’m off to enjoy my lazy Sunday.

I participated by discovering your treats at Akasha. OMG, wow! I don’t really like macarons, but they were pb/chocolate, so I made an exception and am glad I did. The truffles were absolutely to die for. I don’t think things too sweet and everything was the perfect ratio.

Wow! Thanks, Sarah! I’m so glad you liked my treats! And, thank you for supporting the cause!

I’ll be adding the truffles and the macarons to my menu for ordering soon!

Which was your fave? The peanut butter or the chocolate caramel?
